Zombeast please introduce your selves.

I'm j zombie, I play guitar in Zombeast. I'm Mario. I sing I'm Kris, I play bass. I'm Beauie von, I play drums.

When did Zombeast get started?

Zombie: I think officially August of 2005. Though Beau and I have been playing for about 2 and half years.

Tell us about your new debut album, how was the recording, songwriting?

Kris: I wasn't with the Beast during this period.

Zombie: It was both really good and really frustrating. Song writing was awesome… Beau and I had some songs already done by the time we met Mario. Bryan and they had some songs as well. Though we recorded the album about our third or fourth month as a band. That's one of the reasons why you might hear us play or sing something a little bit different live. The recording was frustrating at times but it really helped us grow as a band. Once the album was done my guitar sounded like butt so I had go back through and re-record all the tracks and then we had to remix the album like three or four fucking times. But hey that's life.

Mario: The recording process was rough. We could only record on the weekends. When I was doing my vocal tracks I was stuck in a stinky closet that was inside a bathroom that was furnished with laundry and a cat box.

Beauie Von: It was fun and frustrating at the same time. Derrik (FC studios) was alot of fun to hang out with on those long Saturdays.

Tell us your band influences?

Zombie: Misfits/Samhain/Danzig! And some other stuff...

Kris: Misfits, Samhain, AFI, Danzig, Sisters of Mercy.

Mario: Yep. Samhain and Danzig. Oh yeah and the Misfits with Glenn.

Beauie Von: Danzig, Samhain, AFI, and Son of Sam

Describe your music to those who do not know?

Zombie: Rock n' roll with an edge? Fuck if I know.

Kris: There's no right way to answer this.

Mario: I don't know.

Beauie Von: Four Danzig fans coming together to fuck.

How do you guys know Calabrese?

Zombie: It's hard to live in Arizona and not know of those dudes. But we all go way back. All of us have known them before Zombeast. Bobby and I used to venture on little gay explorations of ghost hunting or lurking around cemeteries. But nonetheless, they're our favorite band to play with. Them and Hour of the fucking Wolf!

Mario: I met them at a show I was playing. I was in a shittier version of Zombeast. We played our last show with them. That's were I met Jared. Oops, I mean J Zombie.

Kris: I met them about three years ago when they played a gig at the Jar. It was a bitchin time and the whole "stage prop" thing totally blew my pants off. They are roughly the reason J. Zombie and I met, as well.

Beauie Von: J introduced me to them. Plus, we'd jam here and there with Bobby in the beginning.

How is life on the road for you guys?

Zombie: Rough man, these constant one-day Phoenix tours we do get hectic. Ha-ha, actually it's a lot of fun and the first time for some of us...

Mario: going back & forth from Flagstaff to Phoenix, almost every weekend is tiresome, but worth it.

Kris: Haha, I think I'm the some of us. Everything is under control as long as I keep the Doritos bags out of J. Zombie's back seat.

Favorite Horror flicks?

Zombie: The Whore Mangler!

Kris: Lucio Fulci's: Zombie II

Mario: 2001 Maniacs

Beauie Von: Currently, DAGON!

What attracts you to Horror?

Zombie: Tons of things but I really owe it to my brother for raising me on the most bitchin' movies when I was young. Nothing like seeing Rawhead Rex pissing on a priest when your 8.

Mario: It's the nature of mankind. None of us are saints.

Kris: My dad was in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and I got to attend the screening; the rest is history.

Beauie Von: I need my Satan fix

Do you guys drink and party on the road?

Zombie: It varies, however some of us bite faces and head butt cacti when we're drunk.

Mario: It probably wouldn't be a good idea, unless you have a cage or a padded room.

Kris: I prefer to save my drinking for the workweek.

Beauie Von: Not before I play....I totally lose my reflexes.

What is your favorite live show experience so far?

Zombie: Our record release… Fuckin' nuts! The crowd was singing so loud the fucker messed me up!

Mario: Our record release show was good, and our first show in Phoenix with Kris.

Kris: Which is obviously my favorite live experience.

Beauie Von: The show we did with the Horror Pops. Playing in front of hundreds of people on a gigantic stage, what a rush!

How are people treating you at shows?

Zombie: Awesome. We like to be close to our fans… You can find any one of us lurking around the venue somewhere. And when we play shows with Calabrese and Hour of the Wolf its like one big retarded family.

Mario: Good so far. At least the ones that stick around.

Kris: Nothing but genuine people looking for a genuine time. Everyone is great.

Beauie Von: Pretty good! I like discussing comic books and movies with fans before the show.

Do you guys have a wide fan base?

Zombie: Actually yeah we do. It's surprising. When we started Zombeast we didn't think or expect anyone would give a fuck about us. But man, the last year has been crazy. We have punk rockers, horror fans, metal heads, and even fuckin' parents! Some of our younger fans drag their parents to our shows and they ended up walking out with a shirt at the end of the night.

Mario: Yeah people have actually traveled from far away to see us live. Which is fucking awesome and flattering at the same time?

Beauie Von: Yeah like J said....we've played industrial shows, metal shows, punk shows, and rockibilly shows. All positive!

Thanks a lot for doing the interview, but before we go on with our nightmarish lives any last words?

Zombie: Don't fart and sneeze at the same time... It… Well, hurts.

Mario: Take care.

Kris: Support smoking indoors.

Beauie Von: Hail Satan!
