Your favorite sailor hat wearing, fancy pants, moustache Scandinavians are back. If you’re looking for the well known fast as hell hard rock’n’roll with silly lyrics, well look no further! You got heavy riffs, decadent melodies, songs about sex, violence, fat guys (“Everybody Loves A Chubby Dude”) and partying. “Retox” is a bit more rock orientated than the first albums, but still carries the same nerve, the same energy. Turbonegro have found their sound and are sticking with it. I think it’s all good, because even with repeating almost the same tunes, they can’t go wrong and have made a killer record. There is not one bad track between all 14 of them. Every song has the chance to become a rock’n’roll anthem, starting with the single “Do You Do You Dig Destruction” until the epic seven minute “What Is Rock!?” In that last track Turbonegro says “We saved Rock’n’Roll, all on our own!”. Even if they didn’t, they certainly made it funnier!
