Dead Boy Productions with Brian of Summers End

Brian of Summers End

Introduce yourself, please.

Hello. My names Brian Mitchell and I play guitar in the band.

What type of music do you play?

Whatever makes us happy...we're a pretty diverse group of guys when it comes to musical influences; this is just how it comes out when we’re in a room together. The new album will showcase that.

Where are you guys from?

Lurch, John, and I are all from Maryland and then we got the hell outta there and are now located in So Cal! Ha-ha. James, Grant, and Griffen (our studio, live show playing but no heavy touring drummer) are all from California...born and raised!

What influences your sound?

Umm, basically anything really unique, dark, creepy, heavy, dynamic, and melodic. We all listen to a lot of old shit, and although it may comes as a shock a few of us are really big 80's synth pop fans...myself included.

Nice art work on your page. Who does it?

Thanks! All the artwork on our page was done by our boy Ralph from the band Order of the Fly. Check them out!

Where did the name come from?

Well since were all big Danzig fans...Samhain means...the end of summer!

How is touring for you guys?

Excellent, love it. Seeing all the fans/friends is amazing. Were just poor so it's hard to fund them. (Laughs)

When will touring begin?

ASAP, As soon as the album is done we will start working towards that.

What band would you like to tour with?

Really any band that's a lot of fun. We're all really big Calabrese fans and it would be great to get out on the road with those dudes. I don't know it's hard to say...in terms of legendary bands...most have broken up sadly.

What kind of fans do you attract?

Ghouls! (Laughs), Loyal ones.

How did you all meet?

Lurch and John have known each other for a looooong time, I've been hanging around for a long time as well, before I was even a teenager in fact. James and Grant have been in bands together on and off for a long time and we're all really good friends so it just makes sense. We were aware of Griffen’s abilities so we contacted him and told him if he didn't agree to play for us we would break his knees. There you have it!

Favorite Horror Flick?

Facial Queens 3000! Oh wait.... wrong favorite. That's a touchy subject! Me personally I'd have to say the Exorcist because I saw it when I was really young and it scared the hell out of me so I'm still weird about watching it today.

Do you guys drink/smoke?

Maybe...Maybe not. Come hang out with us after a show and you'll find out!

When you play live, what do you get from it?

A reason to not kill.

What is the goal for Summer’s End?

Well right now it's to get this album out and to capture as many listeners as possible. We want everyone to hear what we've got to offer.

Thanks a lot guys any last words?

Coors Light and Sluts!
