The Spookshow - Psychosexual Chapter 1
Review by Justin

The Spookshow album Psychosexual Chapter 1

My first reaction to Psychosexual Chapter 1 wasn’t a very warm one. It’s very hard to be original especially in a scene like ours. The lyrics are nothing new and neither is the style of music they play. What is, however, a kick ass combination is putting their style and lyrics together. They don’t sound like the Misfits or anyone else that “pioneered” our scene. They are much like a strange combination that for me has become hauntingly addicting. It’s sounds like Christian music. You have a beautiful girl singing nice catchy choruses that you would hear at “worship on Wednesday” for kids. Add a punk rock guitar, b-horror movies, and that fact the girl singing is super hot and you get the CD that I’ve been listening too for the last week straight. They pull it off really well. Although this CD may not be for everyone, I enjoy it. If you’re looking for the harder Psychobilly like Chibuku or Os Catalepticos, keep walking. If you’re looking for something new yet strangely familiar for you to have a good time with, this album is for you. From a different side of Psychobilly, Psychosexual Chapter is good addition to your massive ever-growing collection.
