This is definitely a good compilation CD. “Attack of the Hot Rod Zombies” is one of the first compilation CDs I really got into listening to regularly. I instantly liked it because it starts off with Los Duggans song “Country Blues”. I’m a big fan of Los Duggans. Their unionizing songs with metal and guitar-picking style are like no other. It also contains some of the good old school California Pyschobilly with the Slanderin’s song “Mad Dog” full of cool aggression that could be compared to The Meteors’ good years. Overall, this CD covers all the bases from rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, and bands like Thee Merry Widows that fall into a category of their own. All of this leads you right up to a cool ska song about corruption, robbery, and murder. Bands to check out from the comp also include the Chop Tops, Los Creepers, Dead City Rockers, the Irish Brothers, and of course Hellbound Hayride.
