Noche de los Psychos at The Knitting Factory
Frenzy plus 12 Step Rebels, Henchmen, Calabrese, and The Memphis Murder Men
Saturday June 21, 2008

It was a hot day in So-Cal. I made the brutal drive and suffered through traffic in the sun, but well worth it. My destination -E Minor God Entertainment presenting Noche De Los Psychos with Frenzy plus 12 Step Rebels, Henchmen, Calabrese, and The Memphis Murder Men at The Knitting  Factory !!!

The first band of the night was The Memphis Murder Men. I’m telling you, these guys have lots of energy, very entertaining band. Whaling guitar riffs and some sweet punk drumming going on. Some sweet sing along songs. This band bleeds Memphis early rock. Definitely a band to check out if you like the early Misfits, Ramones and just good old Rock 'n' Roll.

The second band of the night was "The World’s Greatest Horror Rock Band" Calabrese! Like every time I see these guys, a fucking killer time. Jimmy, Bobby and Davey Calabrese, that being there real last name, have great sing a longs. If you like horror, punk and rock this is the band to listen to. This is truly a band that does not fail to live up to their image. They live and breathe horror and it shows.   If blood sucking vampires, howling wolves, and slimy creatures were to form a band this is how they would sound.

Henchmen came out third to keep the crowd moving. A solid band, not once did I yawn. Great chemistry between the band members and a great vibe from this band. I imaged The Butcher (drummer) cutting flesh with meat cleavers the whole set. Razo just really putting it all out there on stage. The slap bass keeping it psycho. A rockin’ band check them out.

Next up was the 12 Step Rebels. It was also a good set. Everyone in the crowed was pumped and singing along. The new songs they played were breath of fresh air.  It makes the wait for the next album an exciting anticipation. The only down side was that they left the merchandise in Phoenix, AZ.

Last band of the night and the moment everyone was waiting for was Frenzy to hit the stage. After being in a small room in the back interviewing these guys with Rev. Dan & Dan-Zig , I was ignited to rock. These guys are oldies, but definitely bloody great. Always moving, enjoying every moment up there on stage. Awesome stage presence, everyone in the band had unique points in the set where they set off fires. Lots of amazing bass slapping, guitar cries, and drum pounding. Enjoyed every second of their set so did the crowed singing every word to those songs. Good times were had by all. If you have not seen Frenzy and you like Psychobilly of today you’re missing out on a classic. Still playing after 25 years and still going strong and not stopping.

I want to thank Frenzy, Calabrese, 12 Step Rebels, Henchmen, Memphis Murder Men and the person who none of this would be possible Jose with E Minor God Entertainment who always brings good show to Southern California and will do so in the future I'm sure.
