Dead Boy Productions with Oliver "Dr. Bonzzo" Gonzalez of The Nightshift

Where is the band from and when did the band form?

We are from southwest Sweden and we formed back in March of 2005, but we had played together in other semi serious bands before we formed the Nightshift.

How would you describe your music?

Well, always hard to do, but just plain simple straight forward Punk/rock n roll with Horror as a theme and concept!

Where have you played and what bands have you played with?

We have played here in Sweden in different places some in Gothenburg with smaller bands, but we’ve played together with our friends and fellow horror punkers in The Dead Next Door a few times! We plan to play Europe dates next year as we release our debut album!

What are your thoughts on downloading music?

Well downloading is good, but it would be sad if the CD format died, but I don't think it will! At least not in genres like Punk, metal, electronica and such, because the fans seem to still want the music on hardware so to speak!

How effective do you think MySpace is to your band?

It’s a great help to get listeners and find fellow fans and other bands to fit your genre! Hell, I think MySpace rules! But it’s not good to lock yourself around MySpace and think that you are a better or more successful band just because you have many friends and plays. It’s going out on the road moshing and smashing that’s the real deal!

Do you have any releases out? If so, where are fans able to get them?

Well we released a Mini Album in 2006 called "Part Time Monsters" but it sold out and now we are recording our first full length album to be released in 2008!

What is the music scene like in Sweden? Is there a lot of horror rock/punk stuff or is there a lot of so called popular music?

Ooo, Sweden is a great country when it comes to bands and artists, but there’s no audience! In a country with 9 million there’s too many bands for the crowd, so small bands have a hard time here. As for HorrorPunk and such, there’s really not a lot. Theres us, The Spookshow, and Dead Next Door plus some more. There’s a lot of Swedish punk/rock! and good ones as well. But many of the bands are really big in like Germany, Poland and Europe as for example The Boines and the Accidents. So, there’s some hope! Especially now when we will have an album out in 2008 which will be titled "Los Muertos" and will be released by Dr. Cyclops Records! That’s swee! And we hope to get to Germany as fast as we can, to spread our black and dark joy of killing! (Sinister Laugh)

Anything else you would like to add?

Yeah! Visit our MySpace and feel the horror punk we scare you with! Also, be sure to check it because we have great news coming up, we just signed a record deal with the great label Dr. Cyclopse Records!
