Mad Marge and The Stonecutters - Liberated! CD Review

Mad Marge & The Stonecutters have become well known in the Psychobilly and Punk-rock circuits in less than four years and with only one full length behind their backs. With a brand new record deal, reinforced by former Calavera double bass player, Matt Salamanca and a new drummer, the five- some delivers a second kick ass album. “Liberated” has it all: a stomping rhythm section, galloping guitar riffs and contagious female vocals, which bring even more catchiness to the already catchy music. It may seem outrageous, but sometimes Mad Marge sounds just like Gwen Stefani from her early ska-punk days with No Doubt. All eleven songs are worked to the slightest detail, very tight but still energetic and in your face. Standout tracks are “Sickness”, “Dial Z For Zombie”, “Walk Away” and the final one “Drove Me Mad”. In fact they’re all good! Mad Marge & The Stonecutters have put a great Punkabilly album, which could be a good appetizer before their live show. So make sure you check these ghouls out, when they hit your town!
