Hello ladies. Please introduce yourselves?

Michelle Lockneck: Lead vocals & guitar

Karina Figueroa: Bass guitar & vocals

Lani Daggers: Lead guitar & vocals

Nikki Stix: Drums & vocals

What kind of music do you play for those who don't know?

Some form of punk rock.

Tell me some of your influences?

We all have different influences, which is what makes writing music together fun. All of us come from different musical backgrounds... All based around various forms, eras and genres of punk and rock.

Where are you girls from?

San Francisco baby!

Do you think because you're coming from the San Francisco punk scene it's an advantage or disadvantage?

The music scene in San Francisco is awesome! Everyone is so supportive of one another. We would definitely say it's an advantage.

Describe a road experience with The Departed?

A lot of singing along in the car to old 80's music. We also have this masterful new plan of always having a roadie/merch person who is in AA (we know quite a few of those people). Built in sober driver!!

How have men been treating you on tour?

We actually have only been on a few short tours so far but we always have guys with us. Be it friends, boyfriends, whatever. So we don't ever get hassled. For the most part we've had nothing but good fun experiences so far.

What bands would you like to tour with?

The Marked Men would be awesome! Or pretty much anyone who wants to take us to Europe or Japan.

Do you girls party on tour or is it all business?

I think the above answer about the mandatory sober roadie may answer that one.

What can we expect from the full length?

The album coming out is actually a full length split and I'm not quite sure we can announce who with yet. But I can say that we've been in the studio all week with Jamie McMann at Motor Studios and its been the most meticulous recording session we've ever experienced! Jamie's recorded a bunch of Fat Wreck Chords bands so he really knows his stuff.

Where did your name The Departed come from?

Michelle was trying to think of names with the word "heart" in it somewhere. Realizing all the good ones were taken, she moved on to The Deep Hearted which then took the less cheesy turn to the now Departed. We were kinda pissed when we found out the Movie was coming out but luckily it was a decent one.

Are you girls real into fashion?

Uh....yeah right. We're most comfortable in jeans t-shirts and tennies. Though they do need to be just the right Jeans and tennies. Michelle's mom is really pushing for us to wear matching uniforms on stage, ha!

I saw you guys on AFI's top friends what is that about? For awhile Tiger Army were the only other band up there.

Our album should be out around summertime on Funeral Records. Keep an eye out for it and hopefully we'll be playing a show near you very soon! Thanks.
