Hey...I'm Chris, I play drums...on the real  
 
So tell us a little about how you met and where your from?

Well...lets see. Joey and I met through mutual friends. We would play soccer every Wednesday and Saturday with our friends and we just kinda became friends. Then our old bands used to play shows together all the time and that's how I met Jason. Ryan and I met about 10 years ago at a club (in Pasadena, Ca where we're from) where we got into a fight and beat the crap out of some guys he knew. Yup, that's about it.  
 
When did The Briggs get started?

We got started about 6 years ago. Joey, Jason and I were all in a band called I Decline and we just kinda turned into The Briggs after being threatened with a lawsuit over the I Decline name.  
 
Where did the name come from?

Well, because of the lawsuit, we had to find a new name. Joey and I were on our way to his house one day and were calling out different shit as to what the new name of the band should be. Everything we saw we would say....The Mailboxes....The Lamp Posts...you know, just being stupid. So we turned up Briggs Ave. to get to his house...I called out The Briggs. We liked it and it stuck.  
 
Tell us what kind of music you play for those who don't know?

It's Punk Rock. We’re not a street punk band. We’re not an Oi! band. We’re just a punk rock band.  

What music influences yours?

It ranges from shit you know we would like..such as The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Cocksparrer...to guys like Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Elvis Costello  
 
Do you guys party on the road?

We don't do drugs. We do drink...but when we are on the road...it's not very much. I personally don't like to feel like shit the day after drinking and still have to work and play that day.  

Who designs your merch I've seen some bad ass shit?

We've had some designs that we have done ourselves, but we also have some friends that design shit for a living help us out. We're really picky about what makes it to a T-shirt...so I guess it's a good thing you think they're bad ass  

How is Side One Dummy treating you?

They are a great label to be a part of. They treat us well and really think of everyone as family.  
 
You guys are getting ready to release an album tell us about it?

Not yet. Our latest record "Back To Higher Ground" came out in September of last year. We're still trying to stay on the road to support it. I hope to have a new record in the works by the end of this year.  

Favorite bands you've toured with?

The Adolescents, 7Seconds, Dropkick Murphys  
 
Best horror flick?

Skinned Deep....our friend Gabe Bartallos wrote and directed it. it's an awesome B Horror movie.  

What is the goal for The Briggs?

To be bigger than the only band that matters!  
 
What is new for you guys this year?

WE NOW HAVE A GUITAR TECH! Coming up in the world!
