The Kitten Koffin Zombies are a group that promotes the subculture lifestyle that we here at Deadboy love! Each month girls are asked to send their pictures in and are judged in a contest. the public votes each month on the winner of the best looking girl. Winners are known as the Kitten Koffin Girl of the Month. the website and contests are run by Frenchy, and she was kind enough to answer (literally) a few questions for us about what she does. Support the underground!

What other types of things do you also plan to put up(besides the pinup contest)? Just models?

Hopefully the pinup contest only cracks the surface of Kitten Koffin Zombies. I hope to, in the near future, have a community login for people to be more interactive with the Kitten Koffin Girls and I would like to sell merchandise including the calendar and maybe some sexy little pinup wear featuring the KKZ logo. Also, I plan to start an online zine or even monthly or quarterly printed magazine featuring the winners with interviews of the girls, band features and sections relating to the psychobilly/rockabilly culture. Hopefully in a couple years time start a lounge or bar based off of the brand of Kitten Koffin. I really want the name Kitten Koffin Zombies to be an umbrella of all things "pinup" with my kind of twist.

What inspired you to start a website like this?

Why not? I was really looking for something to break away from the everyday mundane bore of the real world. I wanted something for girls interested in being a pinup to get noticed but still have a good time. They don't have to be professional models but they do need to have the love and drive to want to be.

Where are all the models from? The United States only or all over the world?

The girls entering the contest are mostly in the United States, but I have a girl in the contest now, for April, who is from France. I also have a few girls in upcoming contests from Australia, Canada and some interest from England. Must be the MySpace!

Is it hard picking the girls who are to be nominated for the monthly contest? What is in store for the monthly winners of your contest?

Well, I really don't choose the girls who are going to be in the contest. As long as they supply me with the model release form, drivers license, photo permission form, bio and 6 photos max that are retro pinup with the right Kitten Koffin twist and the photos are good quality, then they are in. For the winners of the contest, they receive a spot in the "past pinups" section of the website, black Kitten Koffin Zombies undies with the logo and a signature "kitten koffin girl" boy beater tank top. The biggest "prize" is their winning month featured in the 2008 Kitten Koffin calendar. It will also include photo credits, bio of the model and website information of the photographers and models, which I will get printed around October and will be for sale on the website.

Do you ever get pictures of girls that have no business being a pinup model?

Well, its not that they don't have any business being a pinup model, but maybe they are not right for this contest. I really don't want to say to anyone "no, you can't do this," but she needs to fit the "retro" pinup look with a Kitten Koffin twist. It’s just a tighter niche that I am trying to feature.
