Hello, please introduce yourselves.
Jacqui: Jacqui Von Shadow, bass and backing vocals.
Suzi: Suzi Homewrecker, guitar and backing vocals.
Danni: Danni Jo, drums.
Liza: Ms. Liza Graves, guitar n' vocals.
So tell me girls how long have you been Civet?
Ahh, too long to say (laughs) OK, no we've been playing for a good couple years now, have a bit of history, a band never tells their age.
How did you'll get together?
Liza: Well Suzi n' I are sisters, so we've been playing together from the beginning, and Danni Jo n' Jacqui were the missing pieces in the puzzle. We all met though mutual friends and/or at shows.
How many albums have you put out?
We've released two on our own, and then one on Disaster Records, with a few comps and 7 inches thrown in for good measure.
Describe your music for those who have never heard you girls.
Femme fatale punk rock. We're a hard hitting girl band that isn't afraid to play like the guys do. We've gotten comparisons to the Runaways, the Distillers, Mudhoney, etc. There's also the camp that loves to hail us as 77' punk. We love that too!
What influences and inspires your music?
We are inspired by everything! Other bands, heartache, fashion, each other.
Do guys hit on you at shows, and are you all single?
Yeah we get hit on some times, but most of the time guys are too intimidated to talk to us. We’re pretty laid back, we’ll talk to anyone as long as they don't creep us out. (Laughs) We could answer the last question, but then we'd have to kill you.
How have men been treating you on tour? Gentlemen, I hope?
Oh yeah, all the bands we've ever shared the road with have been like brothers. Until they learn we can drink them under the table, then it's war.
Favorite bands you've toured with so far?
Ugh...um, the Duane Peters Gunfight, Final Summation, the Hollowpoints, Angel City Outcasts, Chelsea Smiles & the Breakdowns. Represent!
Who would you like to tour with?
We would love for the Murder City Devils to resurrect and take us out on the road. Um, The Cramps, Motorhead, Sahara Hotnights, Tiger Army, Fergie, The Explosion, etc. etc.
Do you girls party on tour or is it all business?
Well up until our most recent tour, out to Texas with The Hollowpoints we were all business. Mid-tour I think they wore us down, and before we knew it we were playing drinking games and doing, uh shotguns. Wine from a cardboard box anyone?
I love what you girls wear. What inspires your fashion?
Well, we try to go after sponsorships of the clothes we really love so we can support them onstage. We LOVE Switchblade Stilletto, Just Deadly, n' Rocksteady. We’re dark girls, we love being able to rock a certain look AND rock out. We try to inspire each other, sometimes our fans inspire us.
Favorite Horror film?
Frankenstein! Or anything black and white, not so scary old horror.
How do feel about your fans?
They are the best. We love how they back us and take pride in being a "Civet" fan, like they've found something cool that they can represent that the whole world doesn't know about...yet.
What can we expect from Civet in the future?
A new album! Soon! We're also revving up to do some bigger tours n' hit parts of the US we haven't hit before, maybe even Europe. Whatever we do, we’ll be happy as long as we keep busy and stay true.
Any last words ladies?
Hugs n' kisses from yer favorite rock n' roll bitches...NKRMF Thank you
