Who are the members?

Kenny - Vocals, Bryan - Vocals, Andrew - Bass, Eric - Drums, Mike - Lead Guitar, Colin - Guitar

Where are you located?

Frederick, Maryland

How did you guys become a band?

Kenny and I started this way back in July of 2006. We simply just wanted to play music; we went through several line-up changes then finally got Eric and Mike in early 2007, followed up by Colin in late 2007.

How long have you been playing together?

We’ve been playing together as a whole since June of 2007

How did you come up with the name "As The Kingdom Falls"?

It’s pretty weird how this came about. I just kind of thought of the name one day but had no real clear message behind it. So I just thought about what it might mean and I came to the conclusion that this kingdom is basically our world, and our world is coming to an end sooner than we know. There are so many deaths and other terrible things taking place today and we’re watching As The Kingdom Falls.

Who are your influences?

We have a lot of different influences actually, but to name a few bands are August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Between The Buried and Me, The Black Dahlia Murder, Darkest Hour, Necrophagist, Origin, Sons Of Azrael, The Partisan Turbine, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Whitechapel, Despised Icon, Aborted, Suicide Silence, Annotations Of An Autopsy, See You Next Tuesday, Cattle Decapitation, Decapitated, and many, many more.

Who have you shared the stage with?

We've been honored to play with Vital Remains, Unmerciful, Sons Of Azrael, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Becoming The Archetype, Once Nothing, Gwen Stacey, The Partisan Turbine!, Implosive Disgorgence, Revenance, ABACABB, and many more.

What venues have you played at?

Our hometown venue is The Mudd Puddle in Frederick, Maryland, but we also play at The Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland, Sonar in Baltimore, Maryland, Recher Theater in Towson, Maryland, Jaxx Nightclub in Springfield, Virginia and others.

Are you signed?

Nope, not yet. We’re all still in school and unless we get an amazing offer from a label then we'll remain unsigned.

Do you have a Manager?

Well, I book a majority of the shows. My dad also helps out a lot with driving us to shows as well as other parents in our band.

Who writes the lyrics?

Kenny writes most of the lyrics, but everyone writes songs here and there.

What influences the lyrics?

Kenny or anyone else of us just get an idea in our head of what we want to write a song about and go from there. We usually think of a good title and base it off that. But other times we just write lyrics and other band mates help come up with titles.

Do you guys have any merchandise? If so what?

We have a few shirts and demos left. We should be getting more soon.

How do you sell your merchandise?

Normally at shows, but we do have PayPal if anyone wants to order something online.

Where do you record?

We actually record with a local guy who comes to your practice space and records you. He does very good quality work for a low price and that’s about all we can afford (Laughs).

How do you feel about animal rights?

None of our songs or lyrics deal with animal rights, but I personally think animals do have rights like us humans do.

Politics?

Politics.... nah we try to stay away from them. That’s what I think drives our country into the ground. No one agrees with anyone else.

What do you guys plan to accomplish in 2008?

We plan to play a lot more shows and get our name out to people and influence High School kids that you can play music too. You have a voice. We mainly just want to get our name out there to people. We’re touring this summer so hopefully that will help a lot as well.

Do you think that the East Coast music scene differs from the West Coast?

I think that every music scene in every state is different. You have your "scene" kids that will like some songs and then "metal heads" that like some songs. It’s basically that not everyone is the same and likes the same music. But back to the question, yes I do think East Coast differs from the West Coast.

How would your Girlfriends feel if you came to LA for a tour?

(Laughs), All of us have girlfriends, except me and Colin, but I don't really know how the other members’ girlfriends would take it.

What advice do you have for people starting out in the music scene?

Just do what you love and play the music that you want to play. Don't play music that you aren't influenced to play, do what you want.
